What An Adventure

Synopsis:

Ruben is an elderly man who is beginning to struggle to walk. His spritely dog Laika, has the fantastical idea to take her owner on a vast journey through space, in a dazzling rocket ship! Now Ruben can fly, free from the bounds of gravity and the pair can play once again. ​

Pre-Production

These slides show my initial storyboards and thumbnail sketches in order to create a short film for 4-6-year-old children.

This project involves the adventures of 'Ruben' and 'Laika'. It was produced alongside two of my friends, using the medium of stop motion. We had to create the whole production ourselves, and I'm so proud of what we created.

There once was a man who stood straight like a stalk​

But as he grew old, he soon struggled to walk​

​

When walking his dog, he tries not to hobble ​

But now when he stands, he goes wobbly wobble!​

​

Laika barked out, “I know what to do!”​

“Let’s build a ship! a rocket for two!”​

​

Come travel through space up up and away!​

Exploring the lights of the bright milky way​

​

“What an adventure!” Ruben exclaims ​

As they shoot through the stars, powered by flames​

 ​

It’s fun without gravity! and Rubens so tall​

Now Laika can play, and Ruben won’t fall​
