1920s Automata
This project was created during my foundation year. It is powered by a windscreen wiper motor, and inspired by the ballrooms of the 1920s. I've been really interested in automata, ever since visiting the Automata museum in France.
The characters and set were all created using whichever material I could find. The background set is made from plywood, and I used a large scrap of Lino in order to print a 1920s, Henri Rousseau-inspired wallpaper.
The characters are created using Fimo, Milliput, recycled wire and scrap material. The hair is made from polyester wool and the expressions have been painted in acrylic paint.
